Savour the pleasures
Dishes from the sea, such as the cuttlefish “a la bruta” or the angler “all cremat”, are accompanied by the “xató”, a cod salad made with curly endive and dressed with an almond and pepper sauce, to which each town in El Garraf adds its personal touch. The renowned Vilanova prawns are another speciality of the area, along with rice, “rossejat” noodles or “espigalls”, a type of cabbage characteristic of the area. The proximity to the sea is also reflected in the wines of El Garraf massif, with a distinct character and bearing the El Penedès Designation of Origin. Notable among them is the “malvasia”, a sweet wine with a long tradition, made with the local “Malvasia” grape from Sitges.
